Unit 2- PBL
Student agency is a lifestyle. It is a philosophical shift to a student centered environment where teachers serve as facilitators guiding students through collaborative learning experiences rather than dictating their learning. When students have agency they develop skills that help them seek and obtain knowledge both collaboratively and autonomously, establishing the habits of a lifelong learner.
My classroom is not a traditional classroom since I teach teachers, however, student agency is just as critical. My hope is that instead of going out to a school and doing a one time training, I can conduct a series of learnings that build upon prior knowledge and resources. I would also like to empower teachers to build their own PLN’s and become knowledge constructors. By giving them resources and teaching them how to find solutions to their own dilemmas, teachers will hopefully feel confident in their ability to be innovative in the classroom.
In this module I researched the design thinking process and how it can impact PBL.
